We are all different… We come in all shapes & sizes. Stop trying to be something you are not meant to be.
We were created to be our individual selves with our own unique gifts, talents, & looks.
So why do we try to be someone we are not?
Why do we compare ourselves & our bodies to another and then hate our own for not looking a certain way?
We look at magazines, perfectly curated pictures and wish for it when it’s not even real it’s so edited that it’s not authentic. We strive to want what isn’t real.
Our bodies are our own no one else’s we were created to be individual’s mot to look like another. I used to look at pictures & want that body, go on extreme diets to try to achieve it. But here’s the thing I’ve learned I will never look like that person because I am not meant to. I am me…
I used to hate that I was curvier and not skinny like the models, that I had big hips that I could not get rid of, there’s bone in there right!! That doesn’t go away!! Some of us our just made different!
Why do we compare ourselves to one another? Comparison is the thief of joy. So, when we are constantly comparing to someone else we will never be happy.
Sure, I want to look good & be healthy, but I don’t strive to look like someone else. Now I take care of myself to feel good & be healthy, not to bully myself into being something that isn’t me and never could be.
I’ve accepted that my body may always have curves, I will always be tall, these are my genetics & this cannot be changed.
Yes we can take our part and do all that we can to take care of ourselves by eating healthy & exercising our bodies. But there some things that are uniquely ours.
Because we come in all shapes & sizes for a reason… To be different from one another… And that is a beautiful thing, it shouldn’t be something we try to change. We were created to be different for a reason. How boring would it be if we were all the same?
One regret, is that I wish I would have realized & believed this when I was younger, maybe then I wouldn’t have had such low self-esteem & insecurities. I wish I would have learned it sooner as an adult so that I could have instilled this into my own daughters so that they accepted who they were with love & confidence.
Imagine if we could teach young girls this, how different it would make them feel to grow up knowing they are perfect just the way they are because they are them and that is beautiful. They don’t have to compare or beat themselves up, they don’t have to want to be somebody else because they are comfortable & confident in their own skin.
So remember that when you are looking at magazines, social media, etc… that we come in all shapes & sizes, we are all different & look different for a reason, God created us to be ourselves not someone else. Sure we can do all that we can to feel good & be healthy but we can do it with self-love, loving our bodies & who we are for what they are!!
