Welcome to Christmas at The Henry’s, our Christmas home tour!
I love Christmas and I love decorating for the season! The lights, the vibrant colors, pillows & fuzzy throws really make it quite easy to create a warm & cozy home! I like to decorate with traditional colors of reds & greens for Christmas! Here is part of our home tour, I hope to bring you more to come!
My Christmas mantle ~ I usually start with the mantle because it is the main focal point of the home. We recently built on to our home so this used to be our living room but now with a new great room, this room is our dining room! This will be our first Christmas with the transition. I am so excited to host Christmas with a larger dining room & more space! And having Christmas dinner with this view!
Our home is a log home so there is lots of wood and dark colors, with renovations I decided I wanted to change up my décor a little and bring in some more whites to try and brighten things up. For Christmas I did this by bringing some snowy pines into the dining room area.
To decorate the mantle I used one large sign as the main focal point and on each side trees in two different heights. I hung pine garland & light on the front of the mantle. Hung the stockings with care and then hung Christmas balls in staggered lengths in various sizes.
Here is a list of where I purchased some of the items in the fireplace area:
Snowy wreath in the center of the hearth – TJMax
Farmhouse Style Sign ‘Welcome to Christmas at the Henry’s’ – I made this sign
Snowy garland for the mantle – Michaels
Personalized Red & Green Velvet Stockings – Pottery Barn
Assorted Christmas balls in various sizes – Walmart
Glitter reindeer – TJMax
I am totally loving this new area in front of the fireplace! And that we can used our fireplace. Before this was the living room and it was so tight with the furniture that it was to tight to actually use it. So off from the dining room table, I created a cozy little sitting area so that we can sit back and enjoy the fire! There is nothing like relaxing by the fire! I was able to create this little nook pretty inexpensively by repurposing some chairs I already had. These are my outdoor wicker chairs and I decided to use them until I decided what I want for this area!
I simply used my outdoor seat cushion but I covered it with a fur throw. I found the large fur pillows at Walmart. And I got really lucky with the fur stools I found at Ross’. I brought in some more light colors to brighten things up by using a cream colored area rug for the sitting area. Also found at Walmart.
Snowy Print Pottery Barn Knock OffI got this idea for the snowy Winter scene prints from Pottery Barn. I couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for something I would only have out for a few months (I will transition this from Christmas into Winter décor). So I purchased this scene in a poster size so that it was a large print from Zazzle.com, I then purchased a poster size black frame from Walmart. So I was pretty pleased with my Pottery Barn knock off for a fraction of the cost, I think I have less than $20 in each print.
Farmhouse Style Sign ~ Gather
This was my first attempt at making my own farmhouse style sign and I absolutely love it! I will be sharing soon how I made this sign.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry
One of the reasons I love Christmas is because it brings family & friends together. Even when we are all so busy with life, we find time over the holidays to be with those we love or slow down to celebrate life! My favorite thing ever is gathering together to eat, drink and simply be merry!
And the were hung…
(this part of our home is our new addition, a work in progress! So don’t mind the unfinished fireplace in this picture)
Our family Christmas tree is a random assortment of ornaments we’ve collected throughout the years. It really has no theme! We enjoy getting the ornaments out every year and talking about each one and where we got it or laughing & reminiscing!
‘There’s no place like home for the holidays’
Our Henry family home at Christmas definitely wouldn’t be complete without everyone home for the holidays! I hope that they just keep coming home! This year has no doubt been really hard for me with my oldest going off to college. I love this time of year when it brings us all together, everyone slows down to enjoy each other!
We had a little help decorating the tree this year!
Pillows & fuzzy blankets really make the home a cozy home sweet home! So this large basket holds our blankets so that they are nearby when we are ready to relax and watch some movies!
You can make this candle centerpiece easily with a glass vase, fake snow, a candle, pines and extra ornaments.
I hope you enjoyed our home for the holidays! Have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy this time of year with the ones you love!
